Is there a revised lights wiring diagram?

with lights off and we are not worried about with them on the brown wire between the switches is the only line wire. As long as we use the grey wire for this link then in off there will always be an earth wire between line and dead wires.

With two way switching there are two different combinations of switch poisitions that results in the light being off (and two different combinations of switch positions tha result in the lights being on).

Look at what happens in your diagram when both switches are in the down position and you should see the problem.

In PVC sheathed cable an Earth or Neutral between Live and Switched Live will reduce but not eliminate capacitive coupling between Live and Switched Live.

This is because there are two distributed capacitors that by pass the conductor in the middle as well as the distributed capacitors to the centre conductor.

These two capacitors are significant due to the PVC acting as a dielectric between blue and brown which increases the amount of capacitive coupling between these two conductors. With PVC as dielectric the capacitance is about 4 to 5 times that it would be if there was no PVC sheath, ( air spaced )
