Is this a joke?

Who knows where that would lead...

Thugs wielding scaffold poles on a street near you?
Better than the other option - too many hoody hugging, daddy hating, failed emigrants all looking for an arse to wipe.

On the principle that one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.
Someone wielding a scaffold bar to protect his own property is a freedom fighter.
Someone wielding a scaffold bar to steal someone's property is a terrorist.

Isn't it part of our system of law? To be able to plead one way or the other?

There have been other cases (eg murder trials) where the defendant has pleaded not guilty when that has clearly not been the case, but they still have that right in law.

Not sure if this is true but are they not often advised to plead not guilty as a starting point for the legal dance that then follows? It's like the cases where a toddler is found dead in a house with 50 separate injuries conducted over months/years and the scum, oops sorry parents, often plead not guilty ...

Like the 3 who have pleaded not guilty to that 10 year old who was found dead the day after they left the country

Mind you not all 3 may be guilty of murder ???

We loved and cared for her so much we fecked off when she 'had an accident' and died ...

But where on that scale would you put someone who having apparently foiled an attempted robbery on his property then went screaming off down the street trying to illegally inflict further violence?

Such an individual could be construed as trying to instill terror (as the person has admitted in another thread), and by default does that not make that person a terrorist?

My mate foiled a break in around his house

Saw some bloke trying to break into
His van on his property

Rushed out the door and on the way out grabbed a shovel

Bloke did a runner down a shared drive my mate never chased him but

The bloke tripped and fell my mate went ran down and cracked him one with the shovel

Was gone a crack him again but the bloke had a gash in his head so he left him to it

Plod we’re called by a neighbour as the scum bag banged on a neighbours door bled all
Over there carpet by all accounts

You have an active imagination when it suits, don’t you.

The ones who f##ked off to Pakistan then went into hiding there, claiming they were fearful of being abused by the Pakistan police? :D

Do people realise that trial by media can actually risk jeopardising the case? It was why Tommy Robinson name was jailed.
Currently I believe the law only applies to active cases. In this instance the trial by media is ongoing in a case which has only very recently become active.
It would be very sad if any trial collapsed because any potential suspects couldn't receive a fair trial.

You've missed my point.

They were clearly lying.

If you fear abuse in a particular country, you don't go there of your own volition.
Which they did.

Unless they seriously thought that they were safer from the Pakistan police, by being in Pakistan.........

They were clearly lying.
That is the kind of comment that constitutes trial by media, which in turn can jeopardise the trial.
If they can't get a fair hearing, they can't be tried without great difficulty.

I understand how difficult it is to discuss such issues without it jeopardising any trial.
But I, for one, would rather hold my counsel for fear of jeopardiing any trial.
