Hi all, so found plenty of threads about this, but most are fairly old.
Our kitchen mixer tap has broken and we were thinking of replacing the taps, sink and worktops anyway, so would like a boiling water tap that also offers filtered cold water (which most seem to do).
I’ve watched quite a few videos on installing the £300 ones. Then there is qooker which is about 3x the cost. But is it really 3x better?
Is the hot water tank noisy?

Would appreciate advice from people with experience of owning one, and indeed plumbers who fit them. Do you get call-backs for issues etc?

TIA.

You have to add the cost of installation, including electrics and changing the pipework. Plus there are ongoing maintenance costs with the filters. In hard water areas limescale will build up as the heater has to be on most of the time. I get the impression they are just not used much after the initial excitement has worn off, because a kettle is much simpler and cheaper to use.

I saw a video of where they said these sould be serviced, the one that was pulled apart was completely blocked up.

Also with Quooker, whenever there is a problem with thier product, you just phone up the Neatherlands and they send out all new parts every time......this shows to me they know it is not that good.

Just put the kettle on!

Andy

Thanks guys, although you are going from "here'say" or "...from what i've seen".
There's not a great to installing them so i'd do that myself.
Waiting on people who have one to chime in :)

My sister has one, she uses it every time she wants boiling water, she doesn't own a kettle. I've no idea if it's been serviced but she has had it for several years.
