Joining soil stack to clay sewer.

I want to tee a new soil stack into an existing horizontal straight clay drain pipe.
Do I just cut into the clay pipe, fit a plastic tee using those rubber couplings or is there more to it , buildings regs , special fittings etc..

use two of these,

and one of these

oh and a couple of short pieces of 110mm plastic pipe.

following on from my previous post, i jumped the gun a little there.

it is highly likely that you will have to install an inspection chamber at this junction, it will be wise to check with your local b.c. first. they will need to inspect it anyhow.

...now where did i put me stella.....?

There is a 3 ft deep manhole 5ft before the proposed joint , I don't have to build another do I?

Connecting to the drains is controlled work, so a building regs appliction should be made.

But in the real world, any sane person would just do it.

The stack should not go straight into the tee though, as there should be a slow radius bend at the bottom of the stack and then this is connected to the existing drain

If you can rod the stack to the connection, then you should not need a new inspection chamber

just plant some mature shrubs over the work to hide it from the Building Control

Make sure you use a rest bend at the base of the stack .

I need a rest you need a long radius bend ........usually have a rest stub on the back.........just clarifying
