Yup, compound is specific, there are things you cant use it on. PTFE can be used in just about any situation where thread sealing/olive sealing/etc is required and I need to use it on gas etc so better having one that does many rather than having 2 or 3 each for it's own specific application.
The Fernox White Hawk compound is not suitable for drinking water pipes or portable water as its called which seems a peculiar term. Presumably because you fill your water bottle from the kitchen tap?
How does the Water Hawk compound, used for drinking water pipes, differ to White Hawk which, the comments on Screwfix/Toolstation say, is used regardless?
No. Pretty sure boss white was not approved for potable in 2013. One of the dangers of getting your information from internet videos. Hemp also not approved for potable due to it being an organic product and able to harbour microbes.
