Balance the towel rail down. They are notorious at having both valves fully open allowing a huge bypass. You only need the balancing valve open a very small amount to achieve 15ºC-20ºC across flow and return pipework under the towel rail itself. The K3 is on a run with 2 small rads and a towel rail John they are all under an insulated floor, I will give it a go thanks again
On the boiler take the D.0 heating load off of auto and set to the total heating load of the system (use 1.5Kw per rad as a starting point). Another point of note is ecoTECs don’t run at full heating output till 3-5mins after turning on. This setting can’t be bypassed, but can be made shorter by setting D.0 correctly. In short if D.0 is set to auto the logic of the boiler assumes the system output is correct if the return water comes back warm (the downfall of a poorly balanced system) therefore will fail to ramp up to a higher output for hours at a time.
Get the correct flow rate and balancing across all radiators right before you adjust bypasses and modulating pump parameters. Not saying they won’t need to be tweaked, but start with logical balancing and you’ll get better performance and efficiency from the boiler.
