A painful story.

Sadly, you are not doing any favours to a person who is dying from a fatal and incurable condition, if you break their ribs and ram tubes down their throat in order to prolong and repeat the experience of dying.

I wouldn't make my cat suffer that way.

If I was in an abbatoir, I would rightly deserve to be prosecuted for causing unnecessary suffering.
