there's no SWA gland involved as yet - in fact I had to Google to find out what one was.

This isn't an armoured cable, by the way - it's inside.

In view of what seems to be available - and the prices - I think the OP's choice is sensible (assuming it is not cheap because of low quality). Although you will have two spare contacts if it wears out.

Juts in case anyone who contributed to this thread is still alive - I have now fired this kiln twice, and all seems fine.
