Kitchen Extractor fan wrong way round?

The kitchen was put in last year.
The extractor is very loud, it's recirculating , and I noticed that the fan on the right side sucks air in, this has a charcoal filter.
The fan on the left side is blowing air out, which seems weird design as the vent is in-between both fans., if I put a filter on the left side (as per the instructions) then it is extremely loud due to the reduced air flow.
Is the fan mounted incorrectly? Surely they should both suck air into the vent and have a filter attached as designed?

Look up the instructions online.
Maybe put link here.

Fans that don't blow air outside are useless though. Can't you vent it outside?

We can't have it extracting to outside, it has an option of recirculating or extraction. We are using it in recirculating mode.

Hi, no it's on a wall that's internal, so can only recirculate. I'll try and find it. It was just a 90 cm cooker hood. Nothing fancy. "Ciarra" is brand.

Here's a link to the model. The image clearly shows air intake (sucking air in) on the left and right side, but my motor is definitely sucking air on the right but blowing air on the left side., I think it should be sucking air too into the central vent so it goes up.

From long ago, when we briefly had a recirculate hood, which I put in - It sucked air in across the full width of the filter area, and blew it out via the top. I would suppose, if that top exit duct were blocked, then it might behave as you describe.

Think you misunderstood the design, both fans cause updraft thru grease filter and expel air thru the carbon filter to the top vents .

Yes I get that, but surely the updraft is created by both fans pulling air into the vent instead of one pulling in and other blowing out in to the hood, means the left side of the hood isn't sucking up the cooking air/steam etc , only the right side.

A fan cannot push air out without pulling it in .So you still haven’t understood.

How many motors are there in this unit? Usually there is just one, but sometimes there are two fans, one at each end of the motor shaft.
