Got a 15 year old kitchen that I am wanting to refresh. I've read about the above and wondering if it works and how practical it is?
Is it as simple as unscrewing and screwing on a bunch of new doors and drawer fronts. Job done.

I like the idea as the flooring and wall tiles aren't damaged in the process. That said, the worktop and tiles aren't in the best of condition either...

Sorry for the jumbled-up thoughts but would welcome your thoughts on this as an approach.

Be careful with this, as tired cab's don't like having their old screw holes messed with.

But yes, as long as the carcasses are sound, you can re-furb the doors and work-tops.

… so probably worth seeing if you can get doors with the pre-drilled (35mm?) hinge holes at the exact same centres as your existing ones. Easier if you know the original manufacturer etc

The doors, worktop and tiles are no good... are you sure the cabinets are worth keeping? Also end and fill-in panels will need changing.

Have a good look at them - check for sagged shelves, damp marks etc. The cabinets are usually the cheapest part of a kitchen anyway, despite being the biggest bit. It may make most sense just to get a new kitchen.

Rough numbers from memory, I think for our last kitchen the doors cost the same as the cabinets, the worktops 2x the cost and appliances another 2x.

Installation time or cost probably isn't that different either. More stuff to come in and out but less messing about trying to make things align. Plus all the de-greasing and repairs that may be needed.
