OP, remove the junction box cover and send a picture of it.

That looks like a 30A JB, albeit a cheap one. And it's broken.

You will find the rating on the bottom. Take care handling it if it is live.

Thanks will have to get a new one, so I take it it is OK running 3 sockets off one junction box? And so do you think the wiring setup is fine with the fused socket for the cooker hood or would need to be changed?

Yes.

Well, it will be fine - but technically the cable to the socket could be overloaded so you should put a fuse before the socket.

The likelihood of both appliances using full 13A would be rare; even if they did, the extractor hood would only consume less than 1A. So, the 2.5mm would be close to its CCC. However, it's fair to add a fuse because it's a kitchen.

So basically only plug one appliance in while the extractor is on and it should be good

Or, there is the alternative of using 4mm for that branch (if the cable was easily accessible).
