So that would be a vote for a DIY forum on kitchen fitting then.

Giving advice to a DIYer on both of the above points.

I've lost count of the number of times I have attended a job only to find that even getting to the stop tap is difficult, and on occasions impossible, let alone the compression fittings.

i think yes only grounds they might get an education in their suppose to know
as lets facde they could do with some type training even it just being bitched at ;)

We should have a dating section. I'm sure that the people who bite so much on this forum would be more chilled out and happier if they got laid.

Good point roofline.

I see adl is assuming again . assuming that he is the only one that can read MI's and cut a big hole for a stop tap.

This is where a section for advice would be good . An experienced fitter would tell a poster that there are minimum requirements when boxing in boilers..

Point is, it is the kitchen designers that need training in this sort of thing cos during the planning stage is the time to leave vent spacing, not when the fitter gets there and finds that it is wrong.

Plumbers so often put boilers in the corner of a kitchen 20mm from the wall cos that is the required gap in the mi.No thought of the kitchen guy who has to try and make this look good for the client. a little bit more thought from all trades and everybodies life would be so much easier.

Incoming water mains .. 12 inches off wall.. does the plumber put an elbow on and take it back to the wall.. nope ..straight up so the sink unit has a bloody great big stop tap in the middle of the base shelf .. well planned that.

Yup I bit .

rant over for now .
