I've recently bought for the 1st time and the survey showed that I needed to replace the lintels above 3 windows on the gable end, the rear patio doors and kitchen window.
It is a 1930's semi-detached and has cavity walls. My contractor has suggested fitting LA style singe skin lintels.
- I know there are a lot of lintels types on the market but should I be concerned about which lintel type he uses? pros cons?
- Do I need to have any official calculations made or permissions from the council for this sort of work?
- What would be the approximate cost for such a job? I have been quoted £895
- Can this work be done and then replacement double glazing be done at a later point?
