a Gadgie is a bloke where I come from, usually referred to as a older person. "Look at that old gadgie doing tap dancing on that laminate floor" for instance.
He's not. Gadgie just has different meaning in different areas. It's slang for an older man some parts up north and I'd never heard of it meaning scum, but it seems that it does on emmas manor.
have you ever thought that you are making a noise?
my sister in law has laminate flooring and be honest i hate going there because of the clicking.
ten times worse when my dog comes with me. i make it lay on a bed to stop the row.
its not right just to call them a name without considering that it might be you thats in the wrong. wouldnt it be better to listen and see if the noise is a problem?
i thought the lease sorts out these sort of problems.

ok here is my "opinion"
no not directly they can only require you to reduce the noise
if you can reduce the noise to an acceptable level then thats fine
if you can not then you have the choice to remove the flooring to comply with the order or face the punishment
if they have stated that they believe the laminate is responsible then the responcibility will be with you to proove otherwise
Emma, ask the environmental health dept to investigate this for you at your local council.

Laminate is an awful idea IMO if you have people living underneath you. It's not good if you like spilling drinks either because it is unlikely to be waterproof and will swell up. Sounds like they probably put up with you until you complained about them and so they felt justified in complaining about you. 4, 5 or 6 years having "pasted" (!) is irrelevant.
