Landis and Gyr Meter E110

I have just had a new connection by the DNO and they supplied one of these:

There are two lights, currently just the one on the right is one permanently and it is RED.

I have yet to get the CU connected, but I was wondering what the light on the left is for, and whether the light pulses when connected and using energy?

No - the one on the left is an optical port for reprogramming the meter.
