Hi,

I know you may not like the title, but I can explain :D .
Due to unexpected reasons, I need to decorate a house very soon, approx 105 m2.
So, I don't mean that the job needs to be done quickly and therefore low quality, instead, I'm searching for a way to reduce the time of execution, or maybe also of finding decorators and all the other tradesman that I need.

The plan is the following:
1. Get the paint, assuming that the decorators can easily find the paint I want, or do I need to buy it??

2. Go in the house, ask the decorators to start painting

3. I want wooden panels in many walls, something like this:
or
or

4. Some walls will require wallpapers, the big ones that cover an entire wall, but I may do it by myself later, the important things are the paint and panels (or partial panels like in the video, they cover only a small area of the wall)

5. ONLY THEN, I can start furnishing the house with libraries, wardrobes etc, otherwise, I'll go crazy to move the things

Prior to all that, I'll replace the floor in one big room, I considered 2 days for 18 m2, in the meanwhile, the decorator could be working on the upper floor in parallel.

So, assuming I find the decorator, how long is gonna take for them to complete the job?

Do you spot any flaw in this process?
Any suggestion?
I estimated the price tag for the decorator (I don't know if he'll be alone or with a teammate), it should be 2500 pounds max, am I right?
The floor should be around 1200.

If you want a wall pannelled quickly then you should choose a suitable wallpaper with that design. Cheaper, too.

If you can find someone available to start this job immediately this close to Christmas, they’ll be absolutely useless and it will need doing again in the new year.

The major flaws in this plan is lack of detail, lack of budget and the idea that faceless random people on the internet can offer without visiting the property

That job is a lot more than just decorating!

I see that these people call themselves decorators, but please tell me otherwise.
The floor will be done by other people.

I will partially use wallpapers, but not entirely, or maybe entirely on the wall and it could be done in a later stage, but initially I still need to paint (just in case I abort the wallpaper plan for a while :D )

I need to find a good decorator, that's for sure, though I can't guess if I'll find anyone available in short notice, or anyone at all in December, this is another problem I can't certainly avoid if it comes...

I showed you the Youtube videos, pretty much that job with the panels.

Paint is paint, no much to talk about there, it doesn't require to replace the plasterboard or similar things, maybe some little repair but I didn't see anything too visible :D .

Lack of budget? I estimated 2500 pounds, is it not enough or you didn't read my message entirely?

Visiting the property is something that I considered, it also depends where he lives, but generally also a video call may give an idea.

Nice way to promote the website.
I didn't promote anything, I just posted random people on Youtube.

My response was to the post by Murdochcat...good luck finding a good decorator this close to Christmas - they're usually booked weeks, if not months, in advance.

I m mean it’s almost impossible to give such advice, and i don’t think the OP has given any indication where in the UK they are
I'm around Manchester.
Does it help if I share the floor plan? The rooms to paint would be around 100 m2, it also includes the hall and stairs, despite I wish a panel there but this may take time, so I may exclude it for now.
I just want the house painted so I can start living in it asap.

Obviously the floor would be necessary at some point or in parallel with the painter, around 18 m2 in the ground floor.
In order do not bother the painter, I think I need to wait and finish his job first.

Flooring also the upper floor would require too much time in my understanding, it's about 40 m2 approx, I also need to remove the carpets, it could cost around 2500 (bathrooms are already paved).

You don't 'need' it painted to start living in it. We lived upstairs in our first house for a year whilst we carried out works downstairs. Man up!

I charge about £1000 per largish room.

What's wrong with the price I estimated?
I used online tools and blogs to give myself an idea, plus Youtube, that's all, and it's my first home, I don't think I was born expert.

I need it because I don't like the way it is, anyway that comment was more for the floor replacement on the ground floor and I have a particular reason for that.

The paint could wait a bit, but not much because I need to start furnishing the house and that's my only house, I can't to keep my stuff in boxes forever.
Obviously, I don't like the current paint either...

I’m wondering if this is a rental

No rental, it's my property purchased in the last moment, unfortunately.

I charge about £1000 per largish room.

For the floor or paint?
Anyway, regarding the paint, I'm not sure if people usually paint also the ceiling when repainting, so I don't know if I need to consider it or not, plus I don't know what kind of paint it is, it seems water based but I'm not expert enough to judge, so for that a visit from the painter is necessary.
It looks of a decent quality at the moment and it has the right color, white :D . I may evaluate to change it in future but it's not fundamental.
