Last minute decoration - Quickest way to do it

Why not paint it yourself?

That’s not the definition of 'need' in my book…..

I can answer to both, the real reason is a last minute relocation which I wasn't expecting, and it's more urgent that I can ever handle.
Plus my home is the location of work, hence I have a strong reason to have it done by professionals and in short notice possibly.
Also, that wood work requires some skills too and the right paint for wood etc, better done by a professional.

I also don't like the way it is, otherwise, I could leave it as such, it's not demolished inside :) .

Yes so it's want not need.
No, it's a necessity, I can't work with a carpet that makes everything dirty, plus it can also catch fire, so the floor is necessary.
The paint too because I can't look at it, same as the current wallpaper.

What's not needed is the first floor, I could skip that for now and put the wardrobe there at least.

Bull sh*t, this is a troll thread intended to raise temperatures of the unsuspecting not legitimate responses. Be gone hatTT.

Choose the room you are going to work in. Give it a quick lick of emulsion to tart it up so you can get working. Invite tradesmen to give quotes for what you would like in the long run. Let the one you choose do a room and see how you get on. Invite them to quote for the remaining rooms.

Crack on working to earn the cash to pay them whilst they deliver your dream.

I think you exaggerated, nothing as such happened or it’s supposed to happen, in fact so far I didn’t receive what I needed.

This is a proper answer, you made me realise that without a quote onsite it doesn’t make sense to ask in this forum, either for the people mood or the people themselves…

Though I wouldn’t put someone under pressure till that point, if that person has decent feedbacks and can show some of his work, it should be fine, but I’ll keep an eye on the first room, same as if he sands at each stage, does the corners and edges manually etc.

Certainly I won’t give all the money in advance, because with bank transfers good luck to claim money back for missing tasks for whatever reason (imagine he disappears), or for any damage (though in this case damages are not exactly so easy :D )

For the floor or paint?
Anyway, regarding the paint, I'm not sure if people usually paint also the ceiling when repainting, so I don't know if I need to consider it or not, plus I don't know what kind of paint it is, it seems water based but I'm not expert enough to judge, so for that a visit from the painter is necessary.
It looks of a decent quality at the moment and it has the right color, white :D . I may evaluate to change it in future but it's not fundamental.

That is the cost to redecorate the room (incl of the ceiling). London prices.

Considering that a room takes 1 day or slightly more, it seems a very high price tag, unless you talk about very old buildings where you need to prepare the walls first.
Then London doesn't reflect the country price average, not even on the median, everything in London is stupidly expensive so you have an high life cost for no good reasons, I get that, but I'm around Manchester, thanks for your comment.

In a Victoria property, I expect to spend 5 days per room. The first 8 hours is often just sanding. My customers want a high quality of finish and a property that age has normally been butchered in the past. A room in a new build, in decent condition, I would guesstimate a day and a half. I used oil based paints, so I could not finish a room in one day.

That’s my case, new build, so I went close with it, and I’ll use water based paint, oil could be good on very old properties, or at least I only see disadvantages.

OMG! So as you seem to be superhuman then why not just redecorate your house yourself, it'll only take you five days. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

No offense, I appreciated the comment, but I don’t think it can reflect my case.
Yes, I think it may take me 5 days working hard, or anyone else, but the result would never be fully satisfactory and the stress at the moment it’s not something worth to handle for me, I have many other things to do (last moment relocation)
