laying karndean in bathroom

Looking for some advice. I am thinking of fitting karndean or similar in my bathroom. It currently has old pine boards in place. I will ensure all screwed down secure but need some advice. Do I lay a sub floor to reduce the existing floor imperfections. If so hardboard?

Also thinking about the click system as I think it would give good flexibility.

Has anyone played this in a bathroom and is it suitable?

You want to put 6 or 9mm plywood down 1st not hardboard.
Ring nails every 6" and on joints every 4"

and then feather edge all the joints, then glue the karndean to the surface.

It is the "fitting" labour that significantly adds to the cost.....

someone (fitter) has to purchase and install the ply,
they then have to purchase and install the screed (maybe more than one coat!)
they then have to purchase the correct adhesive (more than one choice)
they then have to (finally) install the flooring

...........I make it sound easy but it`s not! (to do correctly)
