we are laying new joists in the loft to support a new floor spaced at 400cc width of loft is 7m with a supporting wall at 3.5 meters in. we ar using 3.6m 8x2 and bolting together over the supporting wall. the problem is there is a 2m section with no supporting wall if we were to sister up 2 8x2 bolted every 600mm using coach bolt and toothed connectors would this compensate for having no supporting wall underneath? its not being used as bedroom but has a lot to be stored up there

Can't the 2m missing bit of wall be spanned by an 8" x 4" timber bearer, then jiffy-hang the joists to this bearer?

were exactly would i need to place the timber bearer from the spine wall over the 2m gap to the party wall? then hang the joists from this bearer back out to the wall plate? if i do this would need to use a mortar joist hanger to support 8x4 would this soley take that kind of weight as well as the joists running back out to the wall plate?
thanks andy
