lazer eye surgery

I've met a number of (foreign) specialists who come over to work and research at Moorfields. I've noticed that they all wear specs, none of them has laser or contact lenses. They must have seen things the rest of haven't.

A month ago I started wearing glasses on very close work and can't get on with them even though the lens are correct, maybe it takes time to get used to them and yet I've bought a reading glasses (+1.25) in the chemist and I get on better with them :!:

Cost me £1.99

i bought some 1.25 reading glasses or i should say my sis gave me them

they made a huge difference in my left eye small print no prob but my right eye still not seeing the small stuff

is this normal to have one eye stronger

should i go to opticians so many people now say once u start wearing glasses your stuck with them

still have no problem with the dot number plate reading distance but reading is a pain now can i get reading glasses with different power in one side or does that mean prescription

Perhaps you are of an age when you should have a proper eye test.

If you have any close relatives with eye disease, esp glaucoma or diabetes, tell them when making the appointment and it will be free, and they will look for anything similar in your own eyes.

Not sure, I think perhaps that if it took you 40 years to lose sharp vision, once you find out what it's like again, you don't feel comfortable not being able to see things.

Unless of course you're a woman, and would rather bump into things than wear glasses.

I don't use a PC in my job now so I don't get blurred vision any more.
What about pimples?

Hair on the palms of your hands?

Has all that cleared up as well?

No it's not, it means that your brain has slipped over to one side inside your skull and so is picking up better signals from one eye than the other. There are two cures:

One: try to walk around with your head tilted slightly to one side so that your brain will regain it's central position. You will find that your eyesight will equalise within a few months.

Two: Read lots of books and your brain will grow to fit the inside of your skull perfectly. This provides a permanent solution to your problem but may take upto a year to have any effect. WARNING: don't read too many books once your eyesight has equalised or you may experience brain leakage out of your ears or in extreme cases your head may explode.

you certainly have me pinned as an illiterate fool dont u ?

why would that be

somehow in a sort of weird and wonderfull way i am feeling rather excited about your derogitive remarks to me ooohheeerrr

Probably to do with the rubbish you write here all the time.

They can't be that good or you would have noticed that the previous post is nearly 5 years old

Interesting read though about orthokeratology which I'd never heard about before. I have heard about Bates and got a few books(no smutty jokes please :D ). Attended some classes about it in the early 90's. It is effective and the exercises the eyes which are a part of the body most of us neglect to look after. I had a second pair of glasses which were a few levels of strength below the prescription which are worn at the PC.

Palming your eyes does help relax them. Also another exercise I like is closing your eyes and then looking directly at the sun. You then move your eyes in circular motions (like you are rolling your eyes). Obviously you don't open your eyes while doing this. After about 10 minutes your eyes feel very invigorated. You can get a similar result with a bright halogen spotlight.

I might ask about those special contact lenses when I have my next eye test. I have thought about laser eye surgery. A few things have put me off - the cost - the negative effects for night time driving - and as you get older your shortsightedness reduces naturally.

Maybe, if you use a computer monitor all the time, and the image was slightly blurred, or out of focus, then in normal time, in real life, your eyes would be tuned to focus better?

As a child with a lazy eye, putting an eyepatch over my good eye, resulted in me having bruised shins, and collisions with various furniture. Plus the traditional taunts of Joe 90, or speccy bemm..
