Thank you very much........ things are at last looking up. The roofing company have gone over the loft with a fine tooth comb...........
Half the roof has white felt the other half black. So there is a small amount of condensation.......... but not much. They have found the felt at the gable end is a bit short in places. So that is a possible cause. ?????
Also they have held their hands up to an error in the valley work.
The wood laths come a bit low down so am told..... and is causing water to pool in the felt at the botton and not run away properly, but run back on itself & onto the wall. Hence the wet.
They sent a fresh chap down to see our roof..... New pair of eyes
Hasten to add this company is not the one that roofed this place.
Would not have them back here as a gift. Although we have vents on the ridge, we are having air vents lower down to make sure theres no risk of further condensation due to the black felt.
Weather permitting work will start on monday, with a section on the gable end being removed, refelted /tiled etc etc. as well as the valley done.
So please keep your finers crossed for us.
