Leak on newly installed kitchen

You don't usually have to unscrew those Speedfit joints all the way- just back the collar off til it hits the stop then push the top hat thing towards the fitting and pull on the pipe.
If the correct inserts are used, pushfit is fine. With those being accessible, you might want to keep them pushfit for now in case there are any mods you want to do- you can always get at them if you need to.
Your builder is an idiot. The inserts are specific to the pipe not to the fitting. Those ones on the left are a nuisance- the insert tends to hang in the fitting if you remove the pipe.

The insert on the left is a John Guest (JG) superseal, the one in the middle in a newer rumble HEP insert, the one on the right is erm ... a blue insert o_O ... some strange non descript make probably - a polypipe insert would normally be black plastic or plain stainless steel.

The grey fittings are polypipe, the white ones are JG but I am now not sure whether the pipe is old HEP or Polypipe, given that supermix of bits, make should be marked on the pipe wall.

Not one of them is a polypipe insert IMO.

All the inserts were loose fitting. Only the super seal had a chance of working by adding 2 additional seals to the joint. So, I confirmed the white elbow had a super seal and went with that.

It's not right but there's no saying it won't be ok. Join the millions of others who have had substandard work done.

I've seen alot worse.

Erm, a little confused now. If you have replaced the plastic with copper and compression then there shouldn't be any need for inserts??

The white elbow is connected to what? I said one superseal and not two for the elbow.

Using superseal is same as wearing trousers with belt and suspenders and a piece of rope around waist just in case. It might not work. But, the chance of failure is significantly less.

Not sure if you meant the tone that your reply was written in??

That was my misunderstanding, I missed the post where it showed that pipe with a normal elbow, I was still under the impression that it was a male elbow from the original post

But tie round the knees too in case a rat runs up your leg
