Naturally, the owners of water companies would seek to persuade you otherwise.

They have their hand in the national purse.

We pay them handsomely while they tip sewage into our seas and rivers, and dodge our taxes.

Well, Re Nationalisation was one of Jeremy Corbyn's flagship policies if I remember correctly. (open brackets and talk about some other stuff).

Fortunately though, the British Public didn't agree with him on this, (open brackets and talk about some other stuff.

"on this" you said.

you are mistaken.

Fairly certain IMHO the 80 seat majority was a single issue of "get brexit done" which has kinda been a bit of a balls up.

but it worked fine for fishing, financial services, and farming

didn't it?

And this is working so well as well for the shell fish industry who now cannot sell their shellfish due to the polluted waters. Gets worse and worse by the day.

We will have to agree to disagree I think, the place for this is really in the 'General Discussion' section, and to be fair to the OP, we have somewhat hijacked their thread.

All well and good fining a water company but guess who is going to end up paying. So thats a further £90 million not available to improve the treatment works and paid for by the customers. Perhaps he should have given them 5 years to complete an agreed schedule of works or then pay the fine?
