Hiya Slogger, I thought about learning German and I eventually managed to find a program by a fella named Michel Thomas. In it he talks his way through by teaching words and then putting them into phrases. He has two people with him who seem to be learning the language too. It seems ok if you can put up with a bit of waffle and its supposed to give you a good basis in around 12 hours of listening. Theres no books but he recommendss you pause the tracks to practice what he says. If you need to know where i got it from you can mail me at *********************

go for spanish ,its spoken more widely and from the little I know it seems quite a easy language to learn and its a hotter place to holliday. Plus spain has a more family based traditional culture. Slogger you cant loose.
