Put the light up and wired back into the garage,there isn’t enough space to fit a new switch at the side of the light switch.
There is a single metal clad socket with two 2.5mm cables,I’m assuming that I can just change the front to a switched fused face plate and go into the load side with the light cable and insert a 3amp fuse instead of the 13amp it came with.

Will do tomorrow,too dark now,it’s basically as I said single socket with 2x twin and earth cables to and from it in garage,can’t see any other way of doing it apart from running cable another 20mts to distribution board fitting fused switch above or below it and then adding tails from that to the light circuit.
