Hello

I am trying to keep my posts shorter as when I have had my heavy pain killers medication, and tiredness I do over share…

Actual post

I brought some LED light strips, for the stairs at night so if you go down stairs you don’t fall over a cat. I do need to go and get a second one tomorrow.
The details of the lights are…
3 Meters
90 LED’s
Battery powered using 3 1.5v AA
Cool daylight

My plans - if it’s not physically possible please just let me know
Get 2 sets, and use a USB power socket to power both sets simultaneously.
Make sure all LEDs are at the same brightness and settings, hopefully using one battery pack as the controller for both lights
I want to connect both strips to be powered via a smart relay switch, so the lights will turn on, maybe at sunset or an hour before we go to bed, Alexa voice controlled too.

The smart relay switch, I don’t know the real name of the item, but I don’t need a heavy duty one like 10a 2200w so where would I get some?

While you have already purchased the "product",
here are some items you may wish to consider in the future
or
to use instead!
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...order_list.order_list_main.148.22481802v7sHbj

As you will see, these devices
come in various lengths,
can be obtained in various "colours"
are rechargeable - via a USB connector (short connector supplied),
can be fixed by "magnet plates" (so, easily removed/replaced),
sense a "Human Presence" - within about 3 Metres (PIR)
and
are relatively cheap.

This is 100% what I need, however in USB-C but I can get adapters cheap, so should be buying that if I can’t find a USB-C version. Thank you

These are a good shout, we do actually have these setup but I am after a strip that can go down the skirting boards. The ones we have are not the exact same, but do a good job, but we have a stairlift in our house as 6 months per year on average as I recover from surgery. Although, only had one since 2019, due to covid. The lights don’t really light up around the rail for the lift, and my cats like to play behind and around it so when you go downstairs you can easily trip up.

Wouldn't that increase the risk to at least double rather than reducing it?.... pretty serious commitment too.....

Sorry, can you clarify this a bit more, I am slightly confused.

Buy illuminated collar for the cat.?

I am never going to put a collar back on and put ones on our younger cats who have never worn one, you see my home is the last house in the city, they can’t build more houses this way, there is a load of trees and bushes next to my house, and some 12+ (complete guess) years ago I found one of my cats hanging in the tree via the collar, I know you can get quick release but I don’t want to put any of my cats through that.
My cat was fine, no issues, he died this year (22nd January) at 16 years old, he and his brothers became very sick and his 2 other brothers lost 3/4 of their weight in weeks, and he started to lose it also.

I am have recently worked in a property where the customer has battery powered devices, slightly smaller than a cigarette box that sit on the steps and have a PIR in and light up if someone walks past. Wouldn't such devices be easier to work with.

Sorry about your cats. We "lost" (stupid effing euphemism) the first of our three dogs the day that Tom Petty died. I still can't talk in detail about the 3 of them dying. Quite frankly, I don't think I will ever be able to.
