LG Plasma TV broken

What a larf. I have just discovered I don't actually need an aerial. A round coil of aerial cable placed on the floor works. Still, this doesn't fix the broken TV.

Here's structural description of the plasma TV. I place my problem at the mainboard where all the input connectors are.

Some tips and tricks. I followed the website and it told me to replace the main board. So, my initial assessment was right.

So, I need to get a new TV with wifi? Why don't I just get normal TV and plug in the aerial?

The issue here is not an aerial problem. The issue is a break inside the TV between input sockets and the consuming unit for the input. If you supply input via wifi, the break remains.

There is no wifi in any case. Any external wifi unit will have to plug in through one of the normal input sockets.

I assumed you would have internet Wi-Fi .

Sorted, sort off. The main board comprises two halves. Aerial on left half and other input sockets on right half. The right half appears to generate TV signals and send back to the aerial thingy on the left. A micro resistor was blown at the ribbon cable bridge joining the two halves. This would account for aerial signals not getting through. It's not yet verified the other sockets depend on the aerial thingy to produce their video output.

Now it's pondering time:
1. buy new TV
2. buy equipment for micro soldering, no guarantee of success
3. buy used replacement board from ebay, no guarantee of success

There is a slight chance the other sockets don't depend on the aerial thingy. In that case, the aerial input can be ignored, and TV can be viewed via other sockets.

its worth pointing out
you wont get a tv now that only works via an aerial they all have the internet connectivity as standard
so iff you want one just for tv then go for last years model and do NOT set up internet functions as these will increase the power consumption in normal use and instead off sub 1w on standby will often go up to say 10w looking for content
this compares the tv normal consumption off around 12w max on aerial use only to over 20w sometimes iff internet set up 'this needs a factory reset to stop it looking for internet content or what ever its doing to use 10w

Now it's pondering time:
No it isn't.
Your only option is to buy a new TV.

Any money spent on a clapped out old plasma effort will be 100% wasted.
Even if a miracle occurred and you managed to fix it, the cost of the vast amount of electricity it uses compared to a modern one would buy you a new TV in less than a year.

No wifi here. Last year, this year, next year, don't care.
