'Lining' Studs Before Fixing To Wall?

So... this is a bit of an off-the-wall question (no pun intended... )

I'm looking at putting up some soundpanel/insulation between the party wall (1970s semi) in two of the upstairs bedrooms.

Want to lose as little space in the rooms as possible (the noise isn't awful, just a bit noticeable at night), currently going for some CLS studwork fixed to the party wall, earthwool flexible slabs between and then soundpanel plasterboard onto the studs.

I'm wondering a couple of things:

1) Is it worth 'lining' the studs before fixing to the wall, i.e. to dampen the vibrations through the main part of the stud that's in contact with the party wall. By lining I'm thinking simple, strips of acoustic underlay or something that might just cut out some of the sound transmission.

2) Is it worth putting green glue or anything as another damping layer between studs and plasterboard?

I realise it's all a little futile and not as effective as resilient bars etc, but for the loss of just 50mm or so, guess I'm just trying to get the most out of the situation...

Hmm... as soon as I've posted this, I'm wondering why I'm planning on screwing the studs into the wall?! If I'm going to put a sole/top plate (made up terms!) for the stud framing anyway, I might as well set the whole lot 10mm/a minimal distance from the wall surface itself...... I fear I may be over-engineering a problem!

Cheers, I'd had that one crop up a couple of times in searches but hadn't kept it.

Decided on a stud wall, acoustic insulation slabs and soundpanel in the end.

Any thoughts on if I should lift the floor boards and screw the sole plate into the joists directly? Boards are running parallel to the stud work
