I am hoping to get some advice in relation to some work that was carried out on my roof. The lead flashing between the chimney and roof had split and it was causing a leak onto a bedroom ceiling. The chap who repaired the leak used a generous amount of liquid rubber over the crack in the lead flashing. Can anyone comment on whether this is correct way of approaching this problem and will it last for 15 years (which I've been assured it will) or should you just replace the lead flashing? I've attached some before and after photos and would be grateful for any responses.

So where was the split?
I see a lead gutter that had been previously coated and a crack in the coating.
IMHO. Painting stuff on will only be a relatively temporary fix .. 15 years. Doubtful
