Loft conversion - certificate of lawfulness

I've just got home, and clearly missed all the fun. That letter is irrelevant to the OP and as mentioned only the bit of paper that 'says these drawings are approved' are any good.

We havnt received the certificate of lawfulness for a loft conversion we are about to start at our house.
The council say they will issue it in due course. We are 4 weeks into the 8 week wait

Builders etc are booked in.. Do we start without it or should we wait.

What is it about your loft conversion that makes you think there is a chance it might not be permitted development?

The planning officer came put today to have a look. It is not PD and they wouldn't grant a planning application either as they won't let us change to roof to a hipped gable.

Looks like its back to the drawing board.

If you instructed an agent, then surely he could have told you all of this to save wasting your time?

Oh No's! Hipped to gable is PD provided it meets the volume criteria and the house is not in a conservation area, AONB or other oddity and the houses possess its PD rights. So begs the question which one are you? Why did the planning officer say it wasn't PD?
