i want to get installed a loft ladder and a little boarding (about 6 4x1 sheets of diy boarding) plus get my hatch to drop down. a local joiner quoted me about £250 to supply and fit all but dont know if this sounds reasonable. any advice to a newbie plse? also, seem confused about whether i could just lay down about 6 of these diy boarding sheets just around the hatch so the ladder has something to slide on, plus somewhere to store a few suitcases etc. lots of posts about not putting loft boarding straight on top of 3x2 ceiling joists etc. what's the consensus of opinion for this job? also, any building reg requirments to comply with ???
