Pbod I did consider that option. And it's actually closer to what I have in my loft to allow me to work on the light circuit.
But I'm amazed pbod suggested it as you seamed very against it in the garage thread lol.
As I'm always saying, in any situation in which it is felt that sudden loss of lighting could create a danger, IMO the only satisfactory solution is to install 'emergency lighting' (with battery back-up) - since no amount of designing will guarantee that the lights stay on in some situations (power cut, service fuse blowing, even just the lighting circuit's protective device operating).
