Log burner knock out help.

Hi, had log burner put in by a firm but I saw them put a concrete lintel in which they had shaved just of center to make it fit under one stone that was lower than rest, has this now weakened the lintel.

Would have made more sense to trim the low brickwork with a grinder rather than lintel.

Should be ok , they did not expose the rebar?
