Our daughter was about to start looking to move from a flat without even a balcony to a house just before everything kicked off. Was even worse for her and her boyfriend as they’ve both been working from home since March and they aren’t set to go back to work until January at the earliest. She said she didn’t realise the importance of a bit of outdoor space until lockdown and can’t wait to start looking again.

If I had a shilling for every fool who said london prices were going to fall, I'd be probably buying another house in London.
Never prices have gone down and stayed down.
Usually there's some scaremongering, house prices go down, nobody sells because they have enough money to hold on, demand increases with very few available properties and prices go sky high again, higher than before.

I quite enjoy my occasional visits to the 'smoke'.
I wouldn't live there, but I do enjoy my visits.
It's a very vibrant city with lots to do. You could never be bored in such cities.
Like Paris, Saigon, Hanoi, Bangkok, Manila, but again, I wouldn't want to live there.

I guess living out in the sticks allows me to enjoy the visits to bustling cities.
 
A common theme. When I was in my 20's I loved working in the city of London. I'd even get off the tube a couple of stops early just so I could walk through the city and feel the energy of the place. Fast forward 17 years and I hated the place with an enduring passion. Can't even face the idea of going there again.
 
Some parts of London are lovely, I think too many people think only of the inner city areas with high rise flats.
Many parts are nicer than other cities.
