Looking for window supplier who can supply similar?

Will that arrangement comply with egress rules? - I suppose if it’s replacement they just have to be “no worse”?

Its best to keep images of each existing window if that’s the case
His existing windows are clearly not egress windows to start with.

Bumping this thread.....

We eventually got around to getting some quotes but have still to get these windows replaced.

Does this look about right or am I out of touch with wooden window prices?

Quotes received so far..

All prices are for 3 of the same size.

TIMBER £4,500 primer finish, fitted.
UPVC inc non white colour inner and outer, £2,450 fitted:unsure:

Have you have at least 3 quotes for each kind of material? Who supplied those quotes?

Timber will be much more expensive.... has been that way for a long time.
Hard to tell the pricing without some.aizes and an idea of the ' non white colour ' , as some non whites aren't ' stock ' colours and will be more expensive and on longer lead times. And whether any toughened glass ? Trickle vents included ? ( or do you have Air bricks/PIV/MHEV sytems). A Rated frames? Any external Cills ( if so approx size 95, 150,180 , 250?)
Lots of variables as you can see lol

find your local trade window fabricator and go and ask them for a price. I'm guessing that window would be no more than about £350 ish with glazing in uPVC from my local supplier. http://lostockhallglass.co.uk/ ( last order I had recently 4 windows ~1300x800 - 3 with side openers and fixed pane, one smaller fixed pane only and it was <£750 - Rehau uPVC)

You'd need a handyman installer if you can't DIY. Either ignore the Fensa issue or make a BC application.

All variables considered. The non white is Cream and readily available, standard DG glass etc.,

I take it that was £750 a window? The UPVC price above from a trade supplier using REHAU profiles and includes fitting.
We got something similar from https://www.johnknightglass.co.uk/ however, they are up North, although I know they have done some projects near London.
Thanks. I've had a very quick look at the linked site and their windows don't appear to have the bulk of typical UPVC, which is what I'm looking for?

Taking all youve said into account 2450 for the pvc isn't way off what I'd be roughly judging in my head , it will vary region to region , supplier to supplier . As goes the wood price , the guy who does out wooden windows always tells me never to second guess and always get him to price it , so I can't comment on that

I agree............and it's been a while since I've had to buy anything of any value so more than a little out of touch:p

No that was for all 4 :) didn't include fitting of course, which I DIYd
The good old North South divide?

I watch Homes under the Hammer and can never work out how anyone can do a house up with all that entails for £15k?

The quoted price for fitting the timber windows down here was £315 per man + vat per day. Probably wanted a cup of tea as well:LOL:

My windows came from Balham Trade Centre; prices were good at the time, and some of them were fairly unusual and a bit awkward
