Lots of sockets on spurs

If you can't run a ring downstairs, run it between floors, dropping two cables to each socket

Sorry for going quiet, I was away for a few days.

Thankyou to all who replied, let me see if I've got my options straight here.

1) If I want to divide it into two rings (e.g. one upstairs, one downstairs) I can't use junction boxes to spur from, only sockets. (I am tempted to do that, and use unswitched single gang sockets left under the floorboards as junction boxes just to highlight the pointlessness of that regulation  )

2) Supersparks said I could split the ring into two radials - that isn't what I want, as I want to separate upstairs and downstairs, but I could leave the upstairs ring alone, and convert the downstairs into a radial. If I had a radial cable running from the CU, would I then be allowed to have spurs coming from junction boxes?

3) As my wires in the walls are in steel conduit, would that provide enough protection if I used loose cables? I think that if I removed the outer casing from the twin and earth I could get 2 runs in there. Should I put sleeving over the earth wires?
