We have previously had issue with salts coming through plaster / crumbling plaster at lower level. I have removed the plaster up to dry section.

We think we have resolved these issues through a number of measures and I'm wanting to repair the below but don't really want to use dot and dab and was wondering whether I could fix treated battons and then plasterboard onto these (or possibly used foam adhesive. The wall on image below joins onto a stud wall on left. The other side of the wall is lime plaster.

Any tips would be appreciated including how the plasterboard would run up to the corner bead.

There will be 7inch Skirting boards attached after.

Might it not be best, to not use any plasterboard? Just fix batons on the wall, of the correct thickness, then the skirting to that. That will leave space behind, for evaporation.

Yeh, like this approach , how would you suggest I fill the small gap above - the removed plaster is slightly higher than skirting will be

Horizontal batten, to plaster down to, once set, you can remove it or leave it as a fixing for the skirting. It might be sensible, if there is still damp in the wall, to add some plastic sheet between wall and timber batten.
