Tonight , apparently according to google 28 mins from now?

A lunar eclipse at 6:30ish pm, I think not, in this country.

Expected time was 10pm, but to see the moon disappear...great. It does that daily, due to cloud cover.

It was supposed to turn Orange/Red because of the effect of the eclispe.
Roughly 10 mins duration IIRC in southern England.
Rainy and cloudy anyway so missed it.

It turns orange because of the light passing through the earths atmosphere does it not?

Rays of all colours start from the sun but after they come in contact with particles in the earths atmosphere, they scatter.

Red rays scatter the least because of their high wavelength and paint the white Moon red, explained That bloke, of DIYnot Planetarium.
