hello all i was wondering if i get the electricals rewired by a electrician before but upon research investgation i see there is two cutout fuse one in the entry of home near door and this is just normal cutout with live neutral conductors in from bottom then coming out same conductors and the earth is connected to the shearth tns and then there is no consumer unit nearby instead the cable goes there to the utility room to another cutout which has no earth link and then from that cutout goes to consumer unit

my question is why did electrician put two cutouts before and is it needed thank you

its i have the cutout normal at the entry of door then the wire leaving that goes under floorboard then goes straight to the utility room which is another cutout then from there it goes to the consumer unit

i was wondering if one of the cutouts can be removed by an electrician if possible and why is there 2

A consumer unit is typically rated at 100 amp, where there is a solar array, and a 100 amp DNO fuse, unless a second fuse is fitted, one could get a 120 amp on a consumer unit designed on 100 amp. So there could be a good reason, however without seeing the installation we can only guess.

Somebody in the past moved the CU. And changed from tncs to tns

i understand and respect the post you have composed
however if someone move CU then definately they would have move the cutout or delete the old cutout and add the new one where the new cu was fitted

the old cutout doesnt look nice in the wall flush but look ugly that why i am curious

Why and how? It is up to the DNO. You will have to ask them.

Maybe it has a solid link inside and not a fuse like flats.

If so you may be able to do away with it

thank you sir yes dno good service last time so looking forward to ask them okay thats fine because i remember when smart meter got changed the meter person stick a note on the cutout which is the new one saying 60 amp fuse near the consumer unit

i will try get photo my wife will do it for me as she knows more about me in IT related but my question will be for today why was there 2 cutout before i not know.

the old cutout was behind a wood board i always thought it was normal board but today we paint the wall and i remove the wood and i see another cutout and i test with my voltage detector it was glowing up so it means it is connected.

under floorboard when i was doing something i saw the incoming cable to the house goes to the old cutout first then comes out then goes straight to utility room which is around 20 ft away something like this then goes to the new cutout then from there the consumer unit is around 10 inch up

could it be that maybe someone had cu there where the old cutout was then someone move to utlity

my neighbour said to me maybe it was shared flat maybe the house is 3 bedroom but maybe 2 seperate people were living could this be true?

I don't see why that would need another cut-out.

Well, as I mentioned above flats do have similar.

how can i know i have solar circuit fitted? i dont have solar panels i just want to know if my house can do solar for future

Are you sure it isn't a switch fuse? Tails over 3 metres need to be protected by a consumers fuse, not rely on the DNO fuse.
