Mains voltage downlight wiring

Hi all can any one advise me..

I have 9 x 50w mains downlighters in my house. Relatively new consumer unit with rcd fitted. The downlighters have been wired onto the existing lighting system as follows..

Live feed from the junction box on the lighting ring to two other big (35a)junction boxes, then each individual downlighter wired out from these junction boxes, all on 2.5m T & E. It all works but was browsing this and other sites and noticed that some people say they should be wired on a daisy chain system - if it is wrong i will get an electrician in and get it changed..

I am going to get the whole system tested soon in any case.

The downlighters can be wired either using the 'star' method where all wires connect to a central joint box,
or 'daisy chain' method where the wire loops from fitting to fitting, or a mixture of both.

It depends purely on site conditions when selecting which method to use.
