Mains water into kitchen sink mixer tap

I am planning to to replace my existing kitchen sink taps with a mixer tap. The existing cold supply is from the mains supply so has mains water pressure, and the hot is from the hot water tank so not under pressure. Will the mixing arrangement in the mixer tap cause cold water under mains pressure to be forced back up to the hot water tank?

Thank you. I had thought that I might need to install a non-return valve on the cold water side.

You should have a check valve on hot and cold, but this is as a precaution not because it will happen.
