Hi All

Does anyone happen recognise the make of the grid and grid/switch/dimmer modules? Apparently the switch is busted and I’m miles away, so thought I’d buy spares on route as I need to sort it. If not I’ll have to investigate then take a second trip return to the job. Cheers

If it’s the dimmer that is dud then you just need a dimmer module to replace the dud one. LED bulbs or halogen?

Hi guys, thanks. The dimmer is fine it’s just the actual rocker switch that’s physically been damaged since these photos were taken. I have no clue as to how it was damaged as the steel grid plate that it’s mounted on is pretty sturdy. Just thought someone might recognise if it’s BG, MK, Crabtree or whatever. Big ask I know as there are many. I might have to just do a recce to find out.

Then just take a new 2 gang grid switch with all the parts with you …..

Crabtree ones screw in and mk are more rounded so it's not them. What's the code on the metal grid, that could help, failing that look at pics of a varilight dimmer as it shows 7 popular profiles one may match yours and lead to the make.

Rocky, I think you’re on to something there. The one second to last on the right looks a lot like the one in my photos. I bet it’s a Varilight grid. I compared my grid photo to the Varilight VL GRID2 and they are a bit different, but it could be that they changed the design a bit. I’ll probably buy a Varilight switch enroute to the job speculatively. Cheers

Don't think varilight make actual grid switches, the white adapters are for different makes of grid, to allow fitting there own varilight dimmer, you would need to establish what make grid the second ones actually for.

Yes, thanks, I'll check it out.

They do, and quite customisable. I had to replace a similar switch (dimmer+rocker) recently and bought individually a 2 way plate+mounting grid and then individually the components. All from TLC

Apparently screwix do varilight and the metal grid looks the same, yours is actually upside down
