Fitting a new extractor fan model QF100HTX5CON, fan works but not as intended, its being fed from a 3amp fcu as per installation notes.
The wiring diagram for the model shows that for the fan to operate in simple mode off/on - no timer or humidisat the permanent live and live switched must be bridged - ok so far, it does that, so bridge removed to get the humidity/ timer working.
For the humidity/timer to kick in a switched live needs to be provided, so at the fan there is Live, Neutral and Switched live - ok done that.
But regardless of the switch position when the circuit is turned on the fan just runs.
I get it that if the switched live is on when the circuit is turned on from the consumer unit then the fan will run until it hits its humidity target. but the fan just runs with the switch in the off position when the circuit is turned on and can only be turned off at the isolator.
Looking at the wiring diagram there is a coil shown between the neutral and live switched but no mention is made in the notes...See below.
Anybody have any ideas as to what the coil is, tried manrose tech line...just got busy all the time
