If you have a volt meter measure the voltage of the pair and note the polarity of the 50 volts there
The positive side goes to A and the negative side to B
If they are reversed it will not prevent equipment that is approved for use on the UK telephone system from working. Some equipment that is not compliant to the BT standards will not work if A and B are reversed polarty.

All sorted now, standard broadband is back a 6.90 mb now fastest it's ever been lol.
Changing to fast fibre now with plusnet.
