Quite so, but the usual pattern of behaviour is for the person who posts the incorrect information to become the abuser, and for the person who points out the error(s) to attract criticism if they do it with persistence.jonnyfishing said:Moz
I think the Mod was referring to personal issues rather than wrong advice.I'm sure the forum members here can point out wrong advise or misleading advice without resorting to insulting comments.
For example, how many times have we seen this type of exchange:
A fool writes: Something idiotically and/or offensively wrong.
Someone who knows the truth writes: <the truth>.
A fool writes: You know nothing you <personal insult>.
Someone who knows the truth writes: <the truth> (again).
...repeat ad nauseam...
A third party, perhaps even a moderator, writes: Give it a rest.
So, given the importance of advice being accurate, how many times should someone point out inaccuracies, flaws and lies, in the face of repeated denials? My personal opinion is that there should be no limit, i.e. the person who is wrong should back down, or accept the error, or simply shut up.
