Maybe a daft question - can I lean a ladder against a tiled dormer?

Trying to lift and remove tiles may end up in braking them easily than just standing on them. Especially if they are nailed on. Also I had some ridge tiles re set and the idiot roofers put their size 9 toes through the felt in places.
Not in my world. But then I'm up on rooves a lot.

Yes, so I think I have the experience to know what is safe and easy.

How often do you do such work?
Why are you wanting to start an argument with me. I simply said this "
Yes you are experienced and do it all the time the OP does not.
I was complementing you.

Dormers is around 1300 tall.
I'd push tiles up on the roof and work from there .
Leaning the ladder against the vertical isn't a good plan . They will all be nailed and a pain to repair properly .

Second option as already suggested work from the flat roof

Thanks all, going to give it a go this weekend.

Last question from me, wondering if the easiest way up is to climb up the side of the house, ease along the ridge tiles then slide onto the dormer roof. The ridge tiles are cemented on, am I okay to put my weight on those or is that an even worse idea?
