I want to make up a mobile mains unit to take camping that incorporates earth leakage breaker and mcb to 13A socket for safe hook up. Can it be done by amatuer? Advice greatly appreciated

i guess by camping you mean a tent (if its a caravan you should do a proper install in the caravan)

i don't see what you need a mcb for: the plug fuses and the breakers upstream of the outlet socket should provide perfectly adequate protection

i would think the easiest way would just be to get a masterseal rcd socket then use a compression gland to join it to 1.5mm arctic flex which you run to the 16A CEE plug for the site socket

Cheers plugwash. That's what i thought. Was advised about MCB in camping store, propably to get me to buy £70 of equipment.
