Mcphersons Oil Undercoat , views ?

Is Zinser blue 123 just a fancy acrylic primer ?

If it doesn't block stains that well and it does grip that well to difficult surfaces and won't deal with knotting stains and doesnt harden off well then it's not really that useful in the tool box ?
