Hi,

I'm planning a media wall build, but the wall I want it on is massively out of plumb - what's the best way to deal with this considering the cls will need to be secured to it?

I planned for the back of the tv/shelving to be the original wall to save plastering, but from top to bottom, it's about 2 inches out (65" tv) so I'm guessing that will be too noticeable.

Is the only way around to board the back of the tv/shelving too?

Cheers

I would board the out of plumb wall in 12mm or 18mm MDF. You would need to use appropriate thicknesses of counter baton and or packers to bring the new MDF wall to plumb and flat, then you can paint it before building the media wall. The added bonus is you will have a strong fixing point for your TV and you won't or shouldn't have any scribing for the uprights and shelves.

Have you tried a different level?

If a supporting wall is 50mm out of plumb, you may have other problems.

It's def not the levels, I've tried with 2 with the same outcome. I've attached an image below of what I'm faced with!

Cheers
