I don't think it is practical in this case to rewire all as EOL. The necessary wiring is not available at the control panel and the existing wiring is very cleverly concealed under floors, behind coving etc.
I checked all the new detectors and discovered just two thing. The two alarm output wires are reversed in some PIRs. This is how they were originally - I wrote down each one as it was removed. I don't know whether is matters but changed one of them over to see and it made no apparent difference.
The other thing I discovered is that removing the covers from PIRs 2 nd 4 triggers an alarm even in engineer mode.
